Bertram, nicknamed "The Old Warrior", is an old narrow gauge engine who works at a renovated mine on the former Mid Sodor Railway.
Bertram was built in 1880 as the second engine of the Mid Sodor Railway.
Bertram is painted dark brown with red lining. He has black and gold nameplates on the sides of his saddletank and cab respectively. While on the Mid Sodor Railway, he lacked lining.
